She Renews

She renews the world every day
She renews the world every day
She renews the world every day
She creates in love and wisdom
And all of the universe full of Her infinite light
And all of the universe full of Her infinite light

Who's building borders of steel and concrete
Letting us believe we're incomplete
Keeping us separated and killing our fun
Keep us trusting the men with the guns
Thinking what we require for our self-worth
Depends on acquiring more of the Earth
Who let us believe we need anything other
Than seeing the face of the Source in each other

She renews the world every day
She renews the world every day
She renews the world every day
She creates in love and wisdom
And all of the universe full of Her infinite light
And all of the universe full of Her infinite light

Abundance is when ordinary sensation
Inspires divine fascination
And when I've got this I will not fear
It's a well that will not disappear
And the only thing I've got to do
Is to share my abundance with you
Because there is no property there are no nations
There's only love in our liberation

She renews the world every day
She renews the world every day
She renews the world every day
She creates in love and wisdom
And all of the universe full of Her infinite light
And all of the universe full of Her infinite light

Abundance is when ordinary sensation
Inspires divine fascination
And when I've got this I will not fear
It's a well that will not disappear
And the only thing I've got to do
Is to share my abundance with you
'Cause the Earth's only borders are waters and mountains
Happy are those who drink from this fountain

You renew the world every day...
We renew the world every day...

Mah rabu ma'asekha Yah
Kulam b'chokhmah 'asitah
Melo kol ha'aretz melo kol ha'aretz kvodo

This song was inspired by the first blessing before saying the morning Shma, the affirmation of Oneness. This blessing is for the creation of the world, and it poetically describes the dance of celestial bodies as the Source brings forth day. The Hebrew lyrics at the end of this song are from that blessing, Yotzer(et) Or. That means "creates day." It contains the line, "in wisdom You have created them all." The prayer that follows is one of gratitude for Divine love. In Itai's interpreting of this part of the morning liturgy, She Renews affirms the Oneness and Divine spark that is within All; that we are interconnected participants in the creation of the Universe. It is Itai's belief that we are ultimately here to recognize this Divine spark within one another and in all of Creation, and that we cannot arrive at this state of presence of the Source when we exploit other humans and the planet. Itai sometimes uses the chorus of this song for the blessings before the recitation of Shma.
