Ana B'Koakh is traditionally recited before Lekha Dodi. Some also have a practice of reciting it after the Counting of the Omer, a ritual during the seven weeks between the holidays Pesakh and Shavuoth. It is a Kabbalistic protection spell. The words in this song are exactly as found in the prayerbooks.
